2019 Christmas Resource Roundup (Includes Unique Christmas Cards!)

November 26, 2019 in lifestyle
unique Christmas cards I don’t know about you, but I am so excited its Christmas! Anybody else jump on the bandwagon and start decorating for Christmas before Thanksgiving? I used to religiously wait until after Thanksgiving, but I’ve decided all of November and December should be for celebrating Christmas 😉 After all, we should be thankful all year

Instagram post 2190421605121055237_5523504437 Anxiety has been a struggle of mine over the past couple of months. It’s been getting better as I’ve learned how to deal with it and had conversations with people close to me. But I wanted to share something that has helped me!

God’s promises are promises, right? Meaning they can’t be broken. So when He promises you peace when you pray with supplication and thanksgiving, that means that He will give you peace (Phil. 4:6-7). And you can claim that promise. You can claim that peace.

I love this prayer that @phyliciamasonheimer often prays, from her book Safe to Feel.

Lord, I know you promise your Spirit to make me enough in this area. I’m not leaving, I’m not ceasing to pray until you come through for your promise.

That’s powerful. So bold. And yet, I think this dependence is exactly how God wants us to live.

It doesn’t mean your circumstances will change, but your heart sure will.

It doesn’t mean your anxiety will never return, but you can find peace in the middle of it.

And maybe that’s the point. Depending on God to keep His promises, because He will. He is faithful ❤️

Instagram post 2182441523689653247_5523504437 I just don’t want to miss anything. I don’t want to miss all of the beauty in this season wishing for the next. There are so many good things in this season that I wished for in my last season, so what makes me think that the next season will fulfill me and make me completely happy?⠀
⠀
Choosing to lean into and be grateful for everything in this moment, because God still has so much good here 💜⠀

Instagram post 2181003549722746520_5523504437 I’m so so grateful for the time I spent on my relationship with God when I was single. Its honestly the best thing I’ve ever done, and not just for preparation for this new season in my life, but as a foundation for my whole life.⠀
⠀
It’s been invaluable as I seek to grow closer to God now that I’m in a relationship. God is my rock and I need Him now just as much as I did when I was single.⠀
⠀
So I just wanted to encourage all of you single girls out there to really work on your relationship with Jesus. It’s worth it, I promise. ⠀
⠀
And even if we never get married, it will be the best thing we will ever do 💛⠀

On another note, how is Thanksgiving NEXT WEEK??! Cliche question, but what is your fav food to eat at Thanksgiving?
Instagram post 2172297013068501976_5523504437 You know what’s really cool? Sometimes the most difficult and uncomfortable situations in our lives also grow us the most. Like isn’t that crazy? I think that means we can go through trials with a spirit of joy because we know they’re refining us and making us into a better person, if we let them. ⠀
⠀
Maybe that’s elementary to some of us, but maybe others of us need that reminder. ⠀
⠀
God is before you, with you, and behind you. I pray that whatever you’re going through right now will grow you into a more sanctified you and that you will feel God’s presence and love in a very real, tangible way. He’s there, in every moment, and He’s absolutely in control. I pray you rest in that peace tonight.⠀
⠀
⠀
“Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.”⠀
‭‭Romans‬ ‭5:3-5‬ ‭💙
Instagram post 2170822874528835760_5523504437 I told God the other day that I didn’t like having to depend on Him so much. I’m just being honest. I want to be close to God, but I also want to be independent and get things done by myself.⠀
⠀
But I think that God has me exactly where He wants me- dependent on Him. ⠀
⠀
Dependent for strength in every moment. ⠀
⠀
Dependent on peace to calm my anxious mind and heart. ⠀
⠀
Dependent on guidance and wisdom.⠀
⠀
Dependence on God is where I grow the most and bring Him the most glory. ⠀
⠀
The independence that I crave at times is honestly a desire for comfort and control. The truth is, I wasn’t meant to do this life in my own strength. I was made for intimacy and dependence on my Savior, doing hard things through His strength that bring Him glory. ⠀
⠀
So I’ll learn to depend on God in every moment for everything I need, because He is faithful 💜
Instagram post 2162113370001815664_5523504437 I’ve been learning lately that I don’t have to have my whole life all figured out.⠀
⠀
It’s okay if I need to take it one day at a time.⠀
⠀
It’s okay if I don’t know where I’ll be 5 years from now. Or even a month from now.⠀
⠀
It’s okay if I’m not on the other side of a struggle. Being in the middle of it working through it builds endurance.⠀
⠀
It’s okay if I need to ask for some help or if I need to say no to something.⠀
⠀
Trying to figure it all out makes me so anxious, and yet that’s what I’ve been doing.⠀
⠀
Trusting God every day in every moment brings me so much peace. ⠀
⠀
There are so many verses in the Bible about how we shouldn’t be anxious for anything and we should trust God in everything. It takes intentionality and even work to trust God instead of worrying. But to me, it’s so worth it 💜
