The idea of spending this precious time on earth wisely has been on my mind lately. Even more specifically, living eternity focused. We aren’t promised tomorrow.
I mean, think about it. We get up on a Monday morning and are so worried about everything we have to do that week. What we forget is that this moment that we have right now is the only one we are promised. That breath you are taking right now is the only one that is guaranteed. If you died tomorrow, would all of the stressing and worrying be worth it? Would it have accomplished anything? For me, the answer is no.
When JORD Wood Watches reached out to me and asked if I wanted to collaborate and do a giveaway (read until the bottom!!), I knew it would be a perfect fit with these thoughts that were floating in my mind, ready to land and make a difference. On their website, they say this of their watches:
“The value of a watch is not in being able to tell how much time has
passed, but in being aware of the need to make that time count. Moments are bigger than minutes and your watch should tell more than time.”
What?? Is that not perfect? I’m not saying that you need a watch to remind you to make your time count. But it is a cute reminder 😉
In all seriousness, this time we have been given is precious and we should make it count. Why? Because, as Christians, this time really isn’t our own. It’s been given to us by God to be used for His purpose. I think the biggest way to make the most of our time is to live with eternity on the forefront of our minds. And today, I want to give you some tips to do just that.

How to live with eternity on your mind
1. Spend time with Jesus
It’s simple, but the most important. There’s no point in being eternity focused if it’s not about Jesus, right? Spending time with Him, by praying and reading His Word, reminds us of why we are here and what we should be doing. It keeps us focused, encourages us, and really is the core of who we as Christians are. Spending time with Jesus reminds us that we will be in Heaven with Him one day.
2. Schedule the right things
There are many things pulling for your time, right? But not all of them are what you should be doing. It may be good, but may not be best. The need is not always the call. Pray about what God wants you to do, and realize you can’t do it all. You need to say no to some good things, to say yes to the best things. Don’t stretch yourself thin. When our schedules are filled with the best things, and not over-filled, we have room to focus on eternity.
3. Live in the moment
This one is very important! Be present wherever you are. This life is short, and we should use every opportunity to spread the Gospel and make a difference. When you are living in the moment, you can set your mind on what’s truly important- Jesus, people, and eternity.
4. Be a servant
Why would being a servant help you to be eternity focused? Well think about what being eternity focused is. It’s all about spreading the Gospel so that other’s can join us in Heaven, and it’s about loving others because we know it’s important to God. It’s about thinking of what we are doing now in light of eternity. Jesus has set a beautiful example in the Gospels of being a true servant. And you know eternity was on His mind. I mean, you know He would have rather been in Heaven than on this sinful earth, but He came because He loved us.
5. Take time to focus
I’ve already mentioned it a couple of times, but truly just focus on what being eternity minded is, and focus on Jesus. For you, focusing may be journaling, praying without ceasing, or even singing. It could be anything, but remember what you are doing and why!

I hope those tips were helpful for you! Please leave a comment telling me what you do to stay focused on eternity!
Now, some more about the watch. Y’all, isn’t it beautiful? All JORD Wood Watches are made from different types of wood. There are so many to choose from! I chose the Frankie35 Dark Sandlewood and Slate. (Fun fact: JORD is pronounced like “toad”, but with a y instead of the t!)
And just a side note, their customer service is amazing.
